Adopt Billie

Billie joined us in 2019 and is here because of a permanent eye injury. He is particularly shy towards people and other birds, so he is much more likely to be found in the corner of the display area. He is the most clumsy out of the birds, often tripping and falling on his back. He sometimes can be seen swimming right into the glass, raising concerns from the visitors. This behaviour can be traced back to his eye injury, as these birds will struggle without full vision. Wild puffins need two working eyes to have good 3D vision to help them catch fish and narrate their environment safely.
